Pet Odor Removal

We Remove Pet Odor by Removing the Source Below the Carpet!

Most carpet cleaning companies can only deal with the top side of the carpet which is not effective in removing odor from the pad, tack strip, subfloor and, of course, the backing of the carpet. To remove the odors completely, all contaminated materials must be replaced.

This is Where Carpets by Chris Comes In!

It is very difficult, if not impossible, to remove urine odors from carpet by carpet cleaning alone. This is because the urine gets into the water-based adhesive that holds the primary and secondary backing of the carpet together. As long as there is urine in the adhesive of the carpet, there will be an odor. It is for this reason that patching the affected carpet is always the best option if you have the extra carpet for that process (donor piece). If you do not have extra carpet, we have an alternative to patching which consists of using a sealant to encapsulate the urine in the backing which will block the odor coming from the contamination in the adhesive of the carpet. If the carpet has delamination (that is where the primary backing and secondary backing of the carpet come apart), we will use an adhesive as the sealant so that we reinforce the backing as well as seal in the odor.

Our Process Removes Odor for Good!

*  Pull back the carpet to inspect the source of the odor to make sure we treat all the contaminated areas

*  Remove the contaminated tack strip and pad.

*  Seal the subfloor with sealant to block odor.

*  Install new tack strip and pad.

*  Remove contaminated carpet & patch in a clean piece of carpet if the client has carpet.

*  Seal the backing of carpet and treat facial fibers to remove staining if the client doesn't have carpet to use for a patch.
